Welcome to Project 12

The inaugural Project 12 is an indoor carpet (CRC Black), 1/12 scale only event, October 23-25, 2026 at Rose City World of RC in Portland, OR. The track size is approximately 60' X 50'.  Photos of the event layout will be posted once in place. Featuring custom made trophies, and lots of door prizes (everyone will go home with at least one!)

Racing will consist of only 2 classes with lots of the top drivers from around the Pacific Northwest.  The competition promises to be fierce!

Awards & Door Prizes​

Qualifying:

A unique award will be presented to the TQ in each class.

Main Events:

Class Winners - Custom trophy + special surprise
2nd and 3rd place in each A main - Custom trophy
1st, 2nd, 3rd in lower mains - Custom trophy

 

Saturday Night Dinner: Dinner will be provided for all racers (food tbd)

Door Prizes: Drawing for a free 1/12 kit (Winner gets to choose the brand)

Drawings for lots of door prizes! Everyone will take home at least 1!

Classes:

GT12

Racer supplied USGT Motor and Gravity Rubber Tires - 750g minimum weight.  Qualifying and Mains will be 8 minutes long.

BODIES: 1/12th GT Style bodies, no LMP style bodies. Minimum body weight is 50G. if underweight, extra weight must be added to the roof. Body must be cut on cut lines, no slamming of the bodies.

BATTERY VOLTAGE: 1S= 4.20v All batteries must be charged in a lipo bag. 90 degrees max temp at tech.
SPEED CONTROLS: Only ROAR approved Speed Controls and ROAR approved Speed Controller software is allowed. (Blinky Mode)

Gearing: Open.
Tire Sauce: SXT 3.0 Regular

HANDOUT Gravity Spec 17.5 Motors - Racer supplied Blue Stripe Foam Spec Tire (any brand is allowed) - 730g minimum weight.  Qualifying and Mains will be 8 minutes long.  

BODIES: Any LMP body.

BATTERY VOLTAGE: 1S= 4.20v All batteries must be charged in a lipo bag. 90 degrees max temp at tech.

The Entry Process

Pit space is limited to 35 drivers for this event.  The goal is to try and have as close to 35 entries in each class. 

Racing Schedule:

Friday October 23 - Open and Controlled Practice - Track open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (NOTE: The track WILL NOT be green as several weeks of use will have occurred on the race layout).  Grip will be high on your first run!
 

Saturday October 24 - 4 Rounds of Qualifying - Track opens at 8:00 a.m. - Qualifying begins at 9:00 a.m.

 

Qualifying format for both classes: 
Round 1 - Seeded based on Best Top 15 average from Friday.
Round 2 - Same
Round 3- Reseed based on best run in Q1-Q2

Round 4 - Reseed based on best run in Q1-Q2-Q3
6 cars per heat.

 

Sunday October 25 - Triple A Mains - Single lower mains - Track opens at 8:00 a.m. Mains begin at 9:00 a.m.
6 cars in each Main.  Seeding for lower mains and A1 based on best qualifying run from Saturday.
